FREE Color Fill Effect

If you want a simple way to change the color of logos or icons in Final Cut Pro, you might be surprised to find out that there is no native "fill" or "color fill" effect. I've created this plugin so that you can change the color of anything with a transparent background. You also have the option to fill the object with a gradient. You can adjust the start and end points of the gradient using on-screen controls.

What you get:

  • Easy-to-use, customizable Color Fill Effect for FCP

  • Compatible with FCP 10.6.4 and above

For some reason, Final Cut Pro doesn’t have it’s own fill effect, and it’s pretty annoying to drop a logo into a project, only to realise that you need to change the color so that it stands out on top of your footage.

Usually I would open it up in Photoshop and add a color overlay and bring it back into Final Cut Pro, or I would add a color wheels adjustment and push the brightness values up on all of the sliders to make it white.

But both workflows are a waste of time, and I figured I can’t be the only one who has this problem, so I created my own plugin and I’m giving it away for free. Watch the tutorial to see it in action.
